Spooky season is upon us and as always at the Belgrave, we’re on the (ghost) hunt to find out the very best things to do for our guests or visitors to London. Keeping everyone entertained can be tricky, but we have done some digging and found out the very best spooky treats so you can keep the little ghouls and horrors in your party fed and full of treats. No tricks here, these are all fantastic places to have some truly spooky food experiences.

If you’re in London over the half-term, these will be perfect places to go. Why not book a stay at the Belgrave Hotel to be in easy reach of all these fabulous places.

Doughnut time

78 Long Acre, London WC2E 9NG

23 minutes from The Belgrave on public transport.

Doughnut Time is a fantastic doughnut shop located throughout London and during October, they have a range of trick or treat desserts to tantalise your tastebuds. You can pick from vegan, gluten-free, gluten-free and vegan and standard doughnuts. All decorated in spooky designs, from skeletons and ghosts to pumpkins and cobwebs with spiders. Beware though, the Screaming Halloween 6-pack does come with a box that literally screams at you – probably not one to give to the easily frightened in your party!

If they are a bit too scary and you want to get something that the youngsters will enjoy, you can pick up one of their Halloween DIY Kits and get the family decorating their own doughnuts however they want!

Doughnut Time has multiple locations in London, but Covent Garden is close enough to be able to get there easily from The Belgrave and take in some sights and shopping at the same time. They’ll also have their standard range available as well as merchandise so you can let everyone know where you got your delicious Halloween doughnuts from.

Whipped London

29 Bedfordbury, Covent Garden, London WC2N 4BJ

29 minutes from The Belgrave on public transport or a 45-minute walk.

If a stunning dessert is more your thing, then head over to Whipped London. Their range of cakes are to die for, with beautiful cheesecakes and sponge cakes that will make your mouth water.

This year, the team has outdone themselves with some incredible cheesecakes and cookies. The Pumpkin spiced cookie stuffed with roasted hazelnuts and dulce de leche are a sure fire hit so be sure to get in there quick! Our favourite is the Devil’s Cake – a baked cheesecake that they have layered with soft red velvet sponge cake and then topped with a delectable concoction of whipped cheesecake, devil’s horns and lots of strawberry sauce. We think you’ll be so mesmerised by it all, that you might not see the little monsters lurking around trying to get those tasty treats right out of the bag.

If you want something slightly less devilish – then Whipped London still has their usual range of delightful cakes on offer. Choose from treats like chocolate and dulce de leche sponge cake or sticky toffee pecan baked cheesecake. There is something for everyone. You can order in a full cake for a special occasion or they have slices to take away so you can enjoy your favourites.

The Pumpkin Warehouse at Seven Dials Market

35 Earlham St, London WC2H 9LD.

31-minute bus journey or 25 minutes on the tube.

Seven Dials Market is being transformed this half-term to a pumpkin warehouse where you might find treats, or you might be tricked. Step inside and find out.

From the 20th October, Seven Dials Market will look like a pumpkin picking patch, perfect for you to come in, grab some food and keep the children entertained during half-term with some terrifyingly good children’s crafts in the Market Bookshop with The Kid’s Table – this is from the 23rd to the 27th October between 12-4pm. It is first come, first served so make sure if it’s something your little terrors are interested in, that you get there early. It’s for ages 3+ (younger children can go but must be accompanied by an adult).

The street food vendor’s are also all pitching in with the theme, Bad Boy Pizza Society has a new pickle pizza that will scare you with its hot sauce, Yum Bun has a new candied pecan sweet bao which we are sure will be monstrously good and El Pollote has a kebab el diablo, which we are told is going to be wickedly good. Head down to enjoy what is sure to be a spooky spectacle.

Biscuiteers Belgravia

14-15 Eccleston Yards, 21 Eccleston Pl, London SW1W 9AZ.

13-minute walk from The Belgrave or 13-minute bus ride.

Here at The Belgrave, we love Biscuiteers! So we were thrilled when they announced their Halloween range for October. Not only can you go in-store to get your villainous treats but you can get them delivered to your door; so if you’re having a Halloween party, everyone can enjoy some scary biscuits.

The Halloween range looks better than ever, potions, pumpkins, witches hats and black cats all feature in their Haunted House box or why not try their Monster Munch triple threat of a mummy, vampire and Frankenstein’s monster? The letterbox biscuits come in ghoulish ghosts, scary spiders, silly skeletons, or in our opinion, a very cute pumpkin. You can even pick up a DIY box so you can decorate them however you want.

Don’t forget the Biscuiteers also have icing cafes so you can go and take part in those and learn how to decorate a biscuit like the professionals. Over the half-term holidays, the Belgravia site is also hosting a special kid’s icing event where they can decorate a selection of Halloween biscuits, a tutorial from an expert icer, a free hot chocolate and then the Biscuiteers gift box. These are on the 24th and 25th October between 12-1pm so book now to get your slot.
