Restaurants

If being on the water on New Year’s Eve isn’t for you, then try heading into the City and heading to one of the many restaurants with a fantastic view to see the fireworks whilst in the warmth and having a fabulous meal and drinks with those important to you.

There are some incredible places to go, including Madison, where you can see St Paul’s Cathedral or head over to 12th Knot at the Sea Containers hotel to have a delightful and festive party with live music.

Why not have an afternoon out and go to one of the many delightful hotels and restaurants that offer this for New Year’s Eve. Some will even have special menus for the day so you can celebrate with friends and family with one of these classic offerings. There are many different types of afternoon tea to book, including vegan and vegetarian ones, champagne or bottomless ones and child-friendly themed afternoon teas.

If you want a food experience that is slightly different and a little bit quirky or eccentric, then book in at one of the following restaurants:

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal – Heston is famous for creating culinary art where a dish may taste different to how it looks. This two-Michelin-starred restaurant is an amazing place to eat. Prepare to be astounded.

Circus – With a great-tasting menu and various cabaret and circus acts that perform as you’re eating, this is a truly unique experience. You may have to watch your plate as they can perform on your table!

Jungle Cave – perfect for families, the children will be able to discover more about waterfalls and thunderstorms, plus take on the challenge of spotting various animals and tropical fish.

The Clink Restaurant – based in HMP Brixton, this restaurant is a unique dining experience. Using food that has been grown or sourced at prison farms from around the UK, supporting prisoner rehabilitation, and the menu is incredible.

It’ll be a fun-filled night of cheesy music, dancing and plenty of laughs. Printworks has its popular ‘Defected NYE’ with live DJs who will keep you dancing until the early hours. Or get your glad rags on and head over to the New Year’s Eve Spectacular at the Royal Festival Hall; there are five floors of different things to do, including nightclubs, a live orchestra and plenty more. If you’ve always fancied being in the Natural History Museum after dark, book onto their Jurassic Party for some incredible activities and a silent disco and go exploring after dark! A must for those who love something a little different.

If you need to take it down a notch and want to spend an evening watching a classic show or concert, then why not head over to St Mary Le Strand’s amazing concert ‘Vivaldi on the Strand’ where some wonderful Handel, Bach and Vivaldi pieces are performed by the Piccadilly Sinfonietta. It’s a concert not to be missed if classical music is your thing, and will reward you with a truly spectacular experience.

Days out on New Year’s Eve

If you’re in London with the family and want to be out in the day so you can relax back in the hotel in the evening, then there are lots for you to do. Winter Wonderland will still be open, but make sure you book in advance to see all the sights.

There are also many ice-skating rinks to try, and many of them you can turn up, but we recommend booking as the afternoon will get busier.

If being outside is not ideal, why not treat them to a West End show – there are so many productions available. Check which ones are on, as some will not be showing performances on NYE or will have limited seating available.

You don’t have to go all out on NYE – you can always stay with us, have a meal and relax in the bar as we ring in the New Year in our own way! We’re here to celebrate with you, and we’d love to see you!
